Job description Purpose of Role The Head of Human Resources plays a key role in adding value to the business by shaping and driving our People strategy, whilst being a visible role model for our Operating Principles and Values. The role of Head of Human Resources is responsible for both strategic and hands on operational HR, and centres around the development of innovative and critical people initiatives to support the business goals. This is a leadership role, supporting and guiding a small HR team and working with them to provide effective and value-added support to the business, as well as leading on strategic and complex HR matters. You will liaise regularly with the UK Head of Human Resources to align on strategy and initiatives. Key Accountabilities Oversight of the direction and management of the operation of the HR function, which is focused on driving business success. Own the end-to-end ‘employee lifecycle’ processes, ensuring the HR team deliver exceptional support to the business. This will be through the design and oversight of the implementation of HR policies, processes and initiatives across all areas of people management including recruitment, onboarding and induction, employee relations, pay and benefits, organisational change and development, performance management, learning and development and employee engagement efforts. Drive operational HR initiatives aligned with business objectives, including the performance management process - 1:1s, performance reviews, objective setting and coaching, motivating and counselling employees and teams to perform against business goals. Improve the HR value-add to the business through the design, implementation, and execution of commercially focused HR initiatives linked to the People Strategy, whilst ensuring that HR processes are managed appropriately. Proactively and continually work with key stakeholders and partners to improve efficiency, simplicity and excellence in delivery. Use data and trends proactively to identify key priorities and activities to support business objectives. Provide regular and useful status reports and data to help guide decision-making and enable the Company to scale effectively and efficiently. Develop positive working relationships and work with a breadth of stakeholders across the Group to ensure day-to-day business success and be involved in the core business challenges. Be a strategic advisor and confidant for key stakeholders and an accessible and collaborative partner and coach to all managers in the business, helping them better understand the people under their responsibility and how to maximise their potential and growth. Review people processes, data and trends to make recommendations to management for continuous improvement. Lead and coach direct reports to provide high quality HR support and advice across the business at every level. Allocate responsibilities, set performance targets and coach and develop team members to achieve set KPIs and expected performance/behaviours. Demonstrate the team’s specific contribution to the business through agreed metrics and KPIs. Ensure HR records are compliant with data protection, equal opportunities and other legal requirements. Ensure continuous improvement with reviewing critical HR documents including contracts and employee handbook to ensure they are up to date and relevant. Counsel and guide the business on compliance, employment legislation and all HR-related matters, serving as a subject matter expert, including managing highly complex employee relations cases. Be the escalation/problem management point of contact for the HR team and key stakeholders. Initiate, lead and participate in HR project work on company-wide matters to support business objectives e.g. leading restructures across the business during periods of growth and change, reviewing and developing a reward structure that values and recognises individuals. Essential Experience, Skills and Abilities: Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: Degree and/ or equivalent professional body qualification or relevant work experience Proven knowledge and application of Indian employment law, HR processes and best practice Prior experience in a leading HR role, preferably in a multisite environment, working with a diverse workforce Experience in a fast-paced, fluid, growing, commercial organisation would be an advantage Experience of line management and people development, ideally during a time of change Experience of balancing aspirations with process excellence through efficient use of resources Understanding of and application of technology in driving efficiency Skills and Personal Attributes: Outstanding communication skills, with ability to communicate with people at all levels, both orally and in writing Active listening skills Excellent planning, organisational and prioritisation skills, ensuring follow through to completion Energetic and self-reliant, with sound judgement and decision-making skills Tenacious and resilient, with emotional balance Proactive approach, with demonstrable initiative and problem-solving abilities Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build relationships and collaborate Flexible and adaptable, with ability to work in an agile manner, as well as to bring about and embrace change Comfortable with being challenged and equally able to challenge the status quo, and effectively influence outcomes A strategic thinker combined with a hands-on approach Strong attention to detai.
