The Founder of the Group. Late Sri Rai Shaib Krishnalal Johar, started his working life as a catering person to the British Army in Rawalpindi Before the partition, moved to Coimbatore along with the army battalion which he serviced and where he officially setup DC JOHAR & SONS (P)LTD. in 1948.
From catering, the company expanded into hospitality with the oldest Cinema in South India "Delite Theatre and built the first multi-storied building in Kerala Hotel Sealord and later added The Malabar Hotel, now a part of the Taj Group of Hotels. Further the group diversified into multiple factors of International Trade Distribution, Manufacturing & Retailing for large national brands and companies (in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka) as well as establish own brand of alcoholic beverages in Kerala
Currently, the Group companies focus on Distribution of CPG & Electronics, Retailing of Everyday Luxury Clothing, Sales and Marketing of Alcoholic Beverages, Research & Consulting as well as imports and Distribution of Premium Food Products NATIONALLY
The NATIONAL Distribution Arm of the Group is focused on supporting new and established brands (both international and Indian) in their pan-Indian market expansion, in 3 key channels: various formats of Retail ( GT & MT), HORECA and e-Commerce
