HR Head Roles and Responsibilities :
HR Strategy & Policy
Define HR policies, budgets based on strategy road map
Create a manpower plan, performance and engagement framework and relevant budgets
Provide inputs for correction in compensation based on industry trends
Manage & refine performance management system
Review past performance and arrive at HR focus areas for the year.
Prepare HR budgets and departmental manpower cost estimates
Budgeting
Determine budget for recruitment, employee welfare, training & development, facilities and rewards and recognition
Monitor actual spending Vs the budget.
Communicate budgets to Finance Department and functional heads
Recruitment
Receive Manpower requisition along with job description and reason for hire from departments in the prescribed format
Manage approval from Reporting head.
Refer recruitment policy and sourcing guidelines
Recruit blue-collar & white-collar candidates as per requirement
Issue circulars about the vacant post across departments as well as undertake internal referral application
In the case of field staff, check existing staff details and the possibility of transfer. Ensure to follow defined transfer process
Provide necessary details to external sourcing agents/ Ad agencies
Hire candidate in accordance with necessary approvals from relevant stakeholders
Manage necessary tests and background/reference checks for shortlisted candidates
Issue offers letter/Appointment letter
Manage candidate handholding till they join the company.
Schedule orientation of the new hire and other onboarding activities
Rewards & Recognition
Develop and implement rewards & recognition schemes
Develop and implement non-monetary recognition activities
Instate recognition awards like Employee of the month/ year, long service award, Highest cost saving, Best customer service record
Receive list of eligible employees for the R&R
Execute rewards and recognition
Performance Management System
Conduct Training/ mock sessions on Performance Management Philosophy and Process
Communicate the PMS procedure and timelines across function
Define guidelines to be followed by an appraiser
Follow up to ensure Performance forms are completed within the timeline
Ensure Appraisers provide apprises with performance feedback, training needs and areas for improvement
Ensure conduct of Annual Performance Review, as per timeline
Track the development progress of non-performance and document serious concerns (if any)
Provide inputs on Training requirement to training and development team
Identify star performers
Generate Bell Curve as applicable
Update the year end performance appraisal ratings
Conduct discussions on performance, feedback for improvement and rating scales.
Monitor the quality of review done and challenges decision/ recommendations
