JOB DETAILS
Responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organizations compensation and benefits programs, including base pay, incentive pay, health and welfare benefits, and retirement benefits.
- Works with senior management to ensure that compensation and benefits programs support the organizations business objectives and meet all legal requirements.
- Develops compensation and benefits budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved.Typically reports to top management.
- Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.
- Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
Set the organizations pay structure and benefits offerings
Determine competitive wage rates and develop or modify compensation plans
Evaluate employee benefits policies to assess whether they are current, competitive, and legal
Choose and manage outside partners such as benefits vendors and investment brokers
Coordinate and supervise the work activities of specialists and support staff
Oversee the distribution of pay and benefits information to the organizations employees
Ensure that pay and benefits plans comply with federal and state regulations
Prepare a program budget and keep operations within budget
